Unlock your Blackberry PDA/Cell Phone

Use Your Blackberry on any compatible network

If you have a GSM type Blackberry, for example, the lovely 8900 Curve you see pictured here, the chances are we can unlock it for you so you can use it on your choice of GSM wireless service.

The chances are that your Blackberry was supplied to you in a 'locked' condition, restricting your ability to use SIMs from other suppliers in your phone.

Here's how to simply and quickly unlock your phone so you can use it with any GSM service provider and SIM, anywhere in the world.  This can both save you money and enable you to use wireless services with better coverages in the areas you travel.

UPDATE May 2009 - We're very excited to introduce our new extended improved page of information about Blackberry phone unlocking.  You can still read through the information below, but please click one of the links to the new unlocking request form.

The main differences and improvements?  More models of phone are listed, and now we can offer you a remote unlock code that you can simply enter into your phone directly, yourself, as well as continuing to offer our mailin service whereby we unlock the phone for you.

More information about unlocking

Please refer to our Unlocking FAQ and also the extra information on our Nokia Unlocking page if you'd like to understand more about what unlocking is and how it works.

But the chances are, because you're here and reading this, you already know much of what you need to know!

How to Unlock Your Phone

At present we are able to provide unlocking codes for many GSM based Blackberry PDA/phones (but not iDEN or CDMA type Blackberry units), plus most Motorola and Nokia phones, many Siemens and most Sony Ericsson and LG phones, the Treo 600, 650, 680 and 750 PDA/phone, most Samsung phones, and the Apple iPhone.

Your Blackberry phone can be either unlocked in person by us, using special software and special hardware, or you can unlock it yourself by simply keying a code into the phone via its dial pad.

You Can Trust Us

Our unlocking service has been positively featured on CNN, and written up in many places, including the Washington Post, the Philadelphia Enquirer's Consumer Action column, and the Clark Howard Consumer Action Center.

We are not a 'fly by night' scam outfit.  Look at everything on this site - there are several hundred pages of content, dating back to 2001.  We have a major internet presence, and years of credibility.

Here's a page of testimonials from satisfied customers.

We're located just out of Seattle, very close to Microsoft, at 17321 NE 31st Ct, Redmond WA 98052 (but please note our ship to address is in Kenmore).

We're a Paypal verified member (this link will take you to a Paypal page that confirms our status), with an account dating back to 2000 and over 5000 successful transactions recorded.

We've unlocked thousands of phones, have been trading for years, and have been well written up by independent reviewers.  We're experienced, skilled, and reliable.

Why Choose Us

Other companies also offer unlock services, some with the same mail in or simple code entry type service we provide, and others that will ship you special unlocking software and cables and allow you to unlock your phone at home yourself.

Entering a code into the phone yourself is clearly quickest and most convenient, and 99% of the time works fine with no problems.  And if you encounter one of the remaining 1%, there's even more reason to choose us.  Our mail in service is offered as a backup/guarantee.

We have the skills, experience and special test equipment to unlock your phone, and we have more advanced equipment than is sold to you for an 'at home' unlock.  Best of all, we test our unlocking with our six way unlock test - something you probably can not do yourself.  You don't want to discover, the first time you try a foreign SIM in a foreign country, that the unlocking didn't properly work for all types of SIMs!

When you get your phone unlocked back from us, there are no surprises and no problems.  You can confidently use it, everywhere.  This is why you should choose us.

Our Guarantee - Six Way Test

We test every Blackberry we unlock, using three different SIMs - the SIM you already had in your phone, a SIM from a different US wireless service provider than that which had locked your phone, and one from an international wireless service provider from Europe (the costs of the international calls are on our dime), to confirm your phone has been fully unlocked.  In each case, we both make a call from your phone and place a call to the phone, to ensure 100% functionality in all possible scenarios.

Assuming that your phone/PDA tests as working when it is first received, we guarantee that it will be fully unlocked.  If we can't confirm that your phone has been unlocked and works perfectly, we'll return your phone (of course!) and fully refund your money.

You don't have to worry if your phone has been correctly unlocked or not.  Our guarantee and testing gives you 100% confidence.

Phone Unlocking - Science and Art

When we first started unlocking phones, back in 2003, the phones were very much simpler, and so too was the unlocking process.  All Nokia phones could be reliably unlocked with a simple $5 code, and just about all other models could be easily unlocked with equipment we had in-house, and for which we charge(d) $25.

In the five years and more since then, the 'state of the art' has evolved enormously.  Not only do phones have a lot more fancy features for their users to enjoy, they often have much more complicated locking procedures, too.  On the positive side, we can now offer simple remote unlock codes for most phones, so on balance, it seems we're winning  the 'battle' between the phone companies and the unlockers.

What is the Cost

Our Regular Blackberry Unlocking Service includes

  • Phone Unlock, Test and Guarantee

  • Return shipping cost is included, for shipping via USPS First Class Mail with Delivery Confirmation and insurance to a US postal address (or Airmail to international addresses)

  • 24 hr turnaround - we'll send out your phone the next business day from that on which we received it

This service is offered for US$30 - 40 (depending on who locked it).

Our Express Blackberry Unlocking Service includes

  • Phone Unlock, Test and Guarantee

  • Return shipping any way you specify, at your cost, to any address, anywhere in the world

  • Same day turnaround, assuming there is sufficient lead time between when/how you get the phone to us and when/how you require the phone to be returned to you

This service is offered for US$35 - 45 (depending on who locked it).

How it Works

1.  Simply fill out the form below.  Please go to the new integrated all phone unlocking page and choose the model Blackberry phone you wish to unlock, then continue the instructions on that page, not the instructions on this now obsoleted page.

2.  You'll then be taken to a second page allowing you to choose which service you wish and to securely make payment via credit card using Paypal, or, if you prefer, send us cash or check (US currency, please) with your phone.

3.  After you've paid for the unlock, you'll be taken to a last page that gives you simple step by step instructions on how/where to send your phone.

If you have any other model of cell phone that doesn't appear in the list below, send us an email.  We're adding capabilities to unlock extra model phones all the time, and may be able to help you.

Special Offer :  Recommended Accessory for your GSM Phone

This is a SIM card Reader/copier/backup device.

This backs up and copies the phone book data on your SIM card. This means if you lose your phone, you don't lose all your phone numbers. If you change from one wireless provider to another, you can quickly copy all your phone book with this unit from one SIM to the other. If you have multiple SIM cards (eg a US card, a global roaming card, and some country-specific pre-paid cards), you can copy your phone book to all these different SIMs.

This $19.95 unit can be purchased for $17.45, plus free shipping when purchased in conjunction with any Blackberry phone unlock service.

Here is a review of the SIM reader/copier/backup unit.  An opportunity to purchase it at a discount will be offered to you when you click the 'Agreed' button below as part of purchasing your unlock code.
