SPECIAL NEWSLETTER

Tuesday 23 April, 2006

Good morning

Mea Culpa.  I made a change to the contribution page on Friday morning last week, and managed to mess up its operation so that it became impossible to donate from then through Monday morning.

Many thanks to Marge, who kindly told me of this and helped me troubleshoot the issue to resolution (Frontpage's automatic features were being 'too helpful' and did something all by themselves with telling me).

The good news - you can once again conveniently contribute, and get some valuable premiums in return (full details on the contribution page).  And I've added a new contribution option - you can now create your own level of automatic monthly or quarterly 'subscription' if you choose to continue to support the site into the future.

Meantime, the bottom line remains unchanged.  Your help is needed to fund the ongoing operation and expansion of The Travel Insider newsletter and website.  Your assistance helps ensure that the airlines, other travel suppliers and government departments continue to be held accountable for their actions.

Together, we're succeeding.  The Travel Insider's 'voice' continues to grow, with more and more websites, newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations, from all around the world, quoting and repeating our commentaries.  Our volunteer army of well educated, upper income, frequent traveler readers and occasional activists is now 22,000 strong in number, up from 16,000 last year and growing every day.  Our Alexa ranking has us as the 24,325th most popular site on the entire world wide web.

Please help maintain this momentum, and keep everything we do free for everyone.  Please join the 213 readers who have already kindly contributed in the last ten days and help us make our modest target of 500 reader contributions.

Normal newsletter and feature column will follow on Friday, same as just about every other Friday for almost five years now.  Until then, here's a little something to put a smile on your face and remind you of the idiocy that The Travel Insider exposes.

Thanks for reading and thanks more for helping out.
